Speech Title: A hybrid fuzzy DEA/AHP methodology for the facility layout design in manufacturing systems
Abstract: A novel approach combining fuzzy data envelopment analysis (DEA) and the analytical hierarchical process (AHP) is proposed to rank units in a fuzzy environment. The hybrid fuzzy DEA/AHP method consists of two stages. In the first stage, the fuzzy DEA is employed for constructing the pairwise comparison matrix considering multiple fuzzy criteria. In the second stage, the pairwise comparison matrix generated based on the results of average of efficiencies in the first stage is utilized to rank scale of the units via the AHP. The proposed approach presents a rational ranking where no subjective assessment of a decision maker evaluation is involved. To show the superiority of the proposed approach and illustrate its compatibility with other methods, a numerical example on the facility layout design in manufacturing systems is included.
